Distance Reiki vs In-Studio: How to Choose Your Session

Distance Reiki vs In-Studio: How to Choose Your Session

Distance Reiki and in-studio Reiki offer the same calming energy work; the difference is the setting and the sensory experience around it. In studio you receive the full Honeybee Reiki experience in person, and at a distance you receive a guided session in the comfort of your own home. Both are deeply restful, so the right choice comes down to what you want from the time and how you rest best.

What an in-studio session offers

In-studio sessions are held at our honeybee apiary in Snoqualmie, where the energy work is paired with the living warmth of the hive: bee aerosols carried from our live hives, sound healing tuned to the natural hertz of the bees, biofield tuning forks, and a cup of calming tea with raw honey to close. There is no direct contact with the bees, and it is completely sting free. For those who would like to be closer to the hives, we also offer apiary-adjacent outdoor sessions within the protection of a mesh tent. An in-studio session runs about 75 minutes.

What a distance session offers

A distance session meets you over Zoom, and you set up a quiet, comfortable place to lie down at home. Reiki is not bound by distance, so a remote session can feel just as settling as one in the room, and many people love being able to drift off in their own bed afterward. If you want the details of how it works, see distance Reiki explained, and for setup, how to prepare for a distance session at home. A distance session runs about 60 minutes.

How to choose

Choose in studio if you want the full sensory experience, time at the apiary, and a complete change of setting. Choose distance if you value convenience, live far away, have a packed schedule, or simply rest best in your own space. There is no wrong choice, only the one that fits your life right now.

Can you do both?

Yes, and many people do. It is common to come to the studio for a first, immersive session, then keep the calm going with distance sessions in between visits.

An honest note: Reiki is a complementary relaxation practice, not a substitute for medical or mental-health care.

Book in studio or at a distance, whichever meets you best. ✧

Frequently asked questions

Is distance Reiki as effective as in studio? For relaxation and calm, many people find it just as soothing. In-studio adds the sensory Honeybee Reiki elements and the apiary setting.

Which is better for a first session? Either works. The studio offers the fullest, most immersive first experience; distance is wonderful if convenience or comfort at home matters more to you.

Do I get the bee elements in a distance session? The bee aerosols, tuning forks, and tea are part of the in-person experience. A distance session focuses on the guided meditation and energy work, carried to wherever you are.

Are studio sessions safe around the bees? Yes. Studio sessions involve no direct contact with the bees and are 100 percent sting free. Apiary-adjacent outdoor sessions are held within a protective mesh tent.

Can I switch between distance and in-studio? Absolutely. Many people alternate depending on their week.
